This all girl alt-folk trio have been riding a wave of growing popularity with several live sessions on the BBC, a rich flow of gigs, festivals, tours, supports, record releases and national press.
They have just signed with Manchester’s Indie Label ‘Red Deer Club’ for the release of their new EP ‘What If The Lights Went Out’ – a summery record with a delicate magic.
Stealing Sheep are three songwriters from Liverpool’s music scene post capital of culture a bountiful wealth of poetry, music and art. They studied at Paul McCartney’s school for arts where they performed for the first time in a one on one song writing session with the Sir Paul.
Tip toeing in the footsteps of songstrells Feist, CocoRosie, Cat Power, Bat for Lashes and golden 60’s folk lullaby artist Vashti Bunyan. With a folky picked guitar, vintage synths, glockenspiel, cello, fiddle, harp and accordion the three pick up an oddment of instruments to culminate in triumphant sounds on their new ep ‘what if the light’s went out’.
Their close three-part harmonies are reminiscent of 40’s country bands and the recordings have that low-fi tape quality of an old time record that captures atmosphere, warmth and charm.
