Recording ADR for Ordinary Love

Ordinary Love tells the story of a middle aged couple, Joan (Lesley Manville) and Tom (Liam Neeson). When Joan is diagnosed with having breast cancer the couple are faced with the challenges that come with the condition and the questions that arrive with the prospect of what if something were to happen to Joan.

We had the great pleasure of working with Lesley Manville on her ADR for the film ‘Ordinary Love’. The production team were based at a pairing studio, and Lesley and our team connected to them using Source Connect Pro.

Source Connect is an IP based communications software that allows the user to send audio from their DAW to a paring studio via the internet. We send Linear Time Code (LTC) to the paring studio to synchronise our Pro Tools sessions, with us as the ‘master’, and thus driving the session. We are also able to ‘slave’ to a 3rd parties via LTC too. Usually this is only when we have the director or producers in the studio to monitor an ADR session remotely, and help attain the desired performance without having to travel.
