Podcast Studio FAQs

How much does the podcast studio cost?

Our Standard HD (1080p) sessions start at £195 + VAT per hour with a 2-hour minimum. Half-day (4 hours) is £725 + VAT and a full day (8 hours) is £1,425 + VAT. UHD 4K sessions start at £255 + VAT per hour, with half-day at £945 + VAT and full day at £1,850 + VAT. Every session includes an experienced engineer, 4× Blackmagic 6K cameras, cinema lenses, up to 30 lights, and premium microphones.

What’s included in every podcast session?

Every session includes an experienced engineer, 4× Blackmagic 6K Studio Cameras with cinema prime lenses, up to 30 cinema-grade lights including Aputure STORM X fixtures, premium microphones (Schoeps CMC6 MK41 or Shure SM7B with Cloudlifter), live-cut via ATEM SDI Pro ISO, a DaVinci Resolve project file, timecode-synced files, free secure 24/7 parking, and access to the on-site canteen.

What’s the difference between HD and UHD 4K?

UHD offers four times the resolution of standard HD, giving you a significantly sharper image with finer detail. It also lets you crop in or reframe shots in post-production — for example, creating vertical clips for social media — without losing quality or looking pixelated. UHD is ideal if you want future-proof content.

Can remote guests dial into our podcast?

Yes. We support Zoom, Teams, Riverside, and ZenCast for an additional £15 + VAT per session. Remote guests receive a high-quality feed of the studio and can see all participants. We distribute meeting links in advance so everything runs smoothly on the day.

What files do I receive after the session?

You’ll receive isolated WAV audio (48 kHz, 24-bit) and timecode-synced video files from all four cameras, plus a DaVinci Resolve project with live-cut XML for fast editing. Audio-only podcasts are delivered via a secure download link. Video podcasts are transferred directly to your SSD. Optional 6K BRAW files are available for £40 + VAT per camera.

Do I need to bring anything?

Please bring a USB-C SSD formatted in exFAT with at least 500 GB free space so you can take your data away immediately after the session. Typical data rates are approximately 100 GB per hour for UHD and 50 GB per hour for HD across all four cameras.

How long does setup take?

All setup — lighting, camera alignment, mic placement, and tech checks — happens within your booked time. Typical setup takes around 45 minutes depending on your configuration and number of contributors. We recommend factoring this in when choosing your session length.

How do I book and what’s the payment process?

Dates are provisionally held for 5 business days. To confirm, we require a 50% deposit via BACS at least 10 business days before your session. The remaining 50% is due on the day before we transfer files. Contact us at podcast@80hertz.com or call 0161 850 8088 to get started.

What’s your cancellation policy?

With 5+ business days notice, you’ll receive a 50% deposit refund or one free reschedule. Between 2–5 business days, the deposit is non-refundable but you can reschedule for a £49 + VAT admin fee. With less than 2 business days notice, the deposit is non-refundable and rescheduling is not available.

Where is the studio and is there parking?

We’re at The Sharp Project, Thorp Road, Manchester M40 5BJ — 10–15 minutes from Manchester city centre by car or a 10-minute walk from Central Park tram stop. We have free, secure 24/7 on-site parking covered by G4S CCTV. The studio has full ground-floor disabled access and accessible toilets.
